ABOUT
Kyle MacLeod

Kyle brings litigation experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, in-house counsel background, and psychology training. As claims counsel for a legal professional liability insurer, he managed hundreds of claims with settlement authority, developing insight into how different parties approach disputes and settlement decisions.

Unlike mediators who spent their careers as advocates, Kyle has experience making institutional settlement decisions with authority. Corporate clients focus on risk management and precedent. Individual litigants often have reputational, relational, and personal considerations that matter as much as the legal merits—and for many, mediation represents their only opportunity to be heard and understood.

Kyle's psychology background informs his approach to these dynamics. His approach helps parties identify what's important to them—whether practical, institutional, or deeply personal—so they can reach resolution without compromising what matters most. This combination of legal expertise and insight into decision-making enables him to facilitate effective mediation of civil disputes throughout Alberta.
